Choosing a Dealer
Choosing the right dealer can make the difference between an enjoyable and satisfying purchase, installation or service and a nightmare of an experience. In an effort to help our customers have a satisfying experience please review this list of 16 things you should ask your before choosing an HVAC contractor.
1. Are you a licensed contractor?
Using an unlicensed contractor is illegal in most states. Your homeowners insurance may question validity on any claims for damages (water leaks etc.)
2. Do you have a copy of the contractor's Worker's Compensation Insurance?
Any worker hurt at your property doing installation or repairs will go to you for compensation if their company does not have Worker's compensation Insurance.
3. Do you have a copy of Contractor's Liability Insurance?
If the company causes any damage to your home, you may end up being responsible if they do not have adequate coverage.
4. Was the permit for my installation pulled (if required)?
The building department will make sure your system is installed properly and safely. An inspection by the building department will make sure that the minimum standards on materials and efficiency are met. Also, your homeowners insurance will want to know that the job passed inspection should any problems occur.
5. Are the equipment and materials properly matched?
An improper match may cost less initially but can dramatically reduce efficiency and also reduce the life, safety and warranty coverage of the equipment.
6. Is the equipment properly sized for my home?
A system too small for your home will not cool your home properly in the summer or heat properyl in the winter. A system too large for your home will result in higher energy bills and higher humidity levels. Improper ductwork sizing may cause hot and cold spots as well as possible efficiency and noise issues.
7. What are your company's training program and licensing requirements?
Poorly trained technicians, or those without up-to-date tools, cannot properly start your unit at the highest efficiency. We emphasize continuous training of our staff to make sure they are as prepared as they can be for any type of service or repair.
8. Do you have Tune-up programs (Energy saving agreements) for my new units?
A full system tune-up twice a year will keep your new equipment operating at peak efficiency, reduce future breakdowns, and ensure longer equipment life.
9. What is the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) and AFUE (Annual Utilization Efficiency)?
The higher efficiency system will cost more money but will save you more money each month on your energy bills. Make sure you get the facts to make decisions on which unit best fits your needs and your budget.
10. Do I need to replace the whole system?
We recommend replacing the complete system, not just the outside or inside unit. The new outside unit may not achieve the optimum energy savings with an old inside unit. Efficiency ratings are based on the matched system, not just one part. Furthermore the warranty and reliability may be compromised.
11. Am I getting name-brand, proven quality equipment?
We guarantee high quality standards in the equipment we install. We offer top name brands from manufactures that stand behind their products.
12. Do you offer Energy Saving Accessories?
Programmable thermostats, surge protectors, air cleaners, and more can be added on or installed with your new system.
13. Do you have a Service Department?
Yes, we service all makes and models of HVAC equipment
14. What happens if my unit breaks? How long do I have to wait for technician to come to my house?
If you have any concerns with your new or old system please contact us immediately. We can solve most issues within 24 hours or less.
15. How long has the company been in the business?
We have been in business for over 30 years.
