The best way to care for your drains is by preventing clogs. Whether in the kitchen, bathroom or another area of your home, there are a variety of liquids, materials and such that can go down the drain. But not all of these elements are appropriate for your drain, hence the clog. Here are a few tips that will help you keep your drains clean so that you won’t have to deal with annoying clogs.
1. Make sure all sinks and bathtubs have stoppers, which you clean daily.
2. Cooking grease should never be poured down the drain.
3. At the beginning of the week, fill your sink to the top then remove the stopper. This will perform a simple flush of the drain line with the sheer weight and volume of the water mass.
4. By pouring bleach down the drain once a month and letting it sit overnight, you will help loosen up build up inside pipes. After you don’t need to run water anymore at night, pour 12 ounces of bleach in the drain, then on the next day any water that runs through the drain will carry minor clogs away.
